Two sales clerks in a supermarket were raped by an armed man during a robbery on Thursday, August 29 on 12th Street of the Radial City sector, in the Juan Díaz district.

Julio Wong, deputy commissioner of the National Police, said the man has been  identified and they are coordinating with the Public Ministry for his capture and prosecution.

Wong asked community members who know the offender, not to protect him and that in the case of hiding him, charges will be filed.

Residents of the area are concerned about the increase in crimes, in nearby neighborhoods such as Las Acacias.

In another sector of Panama City, community leaders from San Miguel, Calidonia, met with government authorities to implement plans to combat crime.
