The driver of a dump truck was killed in a freak accident in  La Pintada, Cocle, on Thursday, September 5. After losing control of the truck he collided with a barrier fence panicked and jumped from the cab and was run over by his own rear wheels.

On Monday a 16-year-old boy was run over and killed by a sedan in the Toabré district, of  Penonomé district, The two deaths bring the highway toll in Cocle this year to 16, and the nationwide carnage to 188.
