A 40-year-old man from the province of West Panam used facebook to sweet talk his followers into sending him erotic photographs “to satisfy his needs as a man” and followed up blackmailing them by threatening to post the photos on the internet.

He is now behind bars for six months while authorities continue their investigations of the suspect from the Progreso sector # 3, in the corregimiento of Puerto Caimito in the district of La Chorrera.

His program collapsed when one of the extorted women a senior citizen from whom he demanded $20,000 reported him to the authorities. Organized crime prosecutors and The Anti-kidnapping and Extortion team) of the Directorate of Judicial Investigation (DIJ) took over and after several weeks of investigation the predator was arrested and appeared in court on Saturday, March 23 when the judge ordered his detention.
