Remembering the 18 victims of blazing bus horror

Survivors and relatives of the 18 people killed in the 8B-06 bus fire in La Cresta, Panama   13 years ago marked the anniversary by painting blue hearts on the road at the site on Martín Sosa Avenue Wednesday, October 23.

"We  can never forget this date," said nurse Lidia Atencio, one of the survivors of the tragedy.”It was the day on which "the transport system in the country. collapsed"

According to Atencio, since that date there have been significant changes in the transport system, but all "at a slow pace…vehicle accidents continue to be the order of the day, due to the lack of courtesy and risking lives," she added.

On the afternoon of October 23, 2006, a bus on the Corredor - Mano de Piedra route caught fire, resulting in the death of 18 people and permanent injuries to the bodies of 25 others who survived.
