The Civil Protection System (Sinaproc) has issued a surveillance and monitoring alert for the passage of tropical wave No. 28 and the low-pressure systems that will cause rains, winds, and electrical storms until August 17.

Chiriquí, Ngäbe Buglé region, Veraguas, Azuero, Bocas del Toro, Panama, Colón, Darien, Gulf of Panama, Panama Oeste and Coclé, are some of the areas under warning.  Sinaproc warned of a possible increase in river levels, streams, landslides, and oversaturation of towns.
