Police sergeant  caught carrying $73,000

A  National Police  sergeant reported to be a driver of the provincial governor was arrested on Friday, September 4, after  being found carrying $73,000 in cash and a 9mm caliber pistol with 150 rounds of. ammunition.

Security forces in coordination with the Drug Prosecutor's Office, caught him at a checkpoint near the border with Costa Rica. He was traveling in a bus with a yellow line, which apparently belongs to a communal board of the province.

The governor of the province Estela Stepheson, said that she was informed by the authorities of the Public Ministry investigation

“We have offered all the collaboration so that the pertinent procedures are carried out in order to contribute to the justice system of the province … the Government will not tolerate any behavior of workers that affects the good image of the institution, "she said.
