The National Police (PN)  have filed a complaint  in the Supreme Court against Democratic Revolutionary Party (PRD),  lawmaker Jairo "Bolota" Salazar for disrespecting police officers whom he challenged to a fight while posing as a lawyer  on Sunday, November 9 in Colon

Videos of Salazar threatening to break the heads of officers who had been called to break up a rowdy party and were attacked with bottles.

The confrontation took place in a police substation where he had gone to demand the release of a partygoer arrested in the early morning hours, for allegedly attacking police officers with bottles when they arrived in Altos de Los to restore order, after complaints of excessive noise.

The director of the PN, Jorge Miranda, said Sunday that the corresponding investigations would be carried out in the case, and the corresponding judicial processes will apply to  whoever is responsible

The rookie lawmaker  has a little more than four months in the National Assembly  and has already earned more than his share of attention “not because of the laws he proposes, but because of the things he does and says”  reports TVN News

He  has provoked the anger of President Laurentino Cortizo for his statements about the LGBTIQ community that were considered discriminatory by human rights
