The eleventh drowning death in Veraguas this year has prompted a warning by, the regional director of  Panama’s Civil Protection  System (Sinaproc).

Alfredo Alfonso  said on Tuesday September 25 that people should not attempt to cross rivers or tributaries when they are swollen by rainfall  to avoid unfortunate situations and even more loss of lives. The warning came after the recovery of the body of Geraldino González Sivalá, 27 who was swept away  when he  tried to cross the Luis River  to reach his home in  Santa  Fe on Sunday.
