With waves of up to 4.5 meters and wind gusts reaching 110 km the National Emergency Operations Center has extended surveillance and monitoring of the Panamanian Caribbean coast and issued a warning to bathers and boat crews.

The warning extends from the early hours of Saturday, January 11 until 11:59 pm on Monday, January 13.

The Civil Protection System (Sinaproc)  , said that the crews of the vessels should exercise safety measures.

Bathers are asked not to enter the sea if they see that the waves are very strong.

Sinaproc, director  Carlos Rumbo, said that waves could be between 2.0 and 4.5 meters and the winds would be from 30 kilometers per hour and that there are gusts between 60 kilometers and 110 kilometers per hour.
