New fuel prices kick on Friday

As of Friday, July 14, fuel prices will be presenting new increases, according to the Ministry of Energy.

95 octane gasoline will raise its price by two cents, to a dollar and seven cents per liter. 91 octane gasoline will increase by two cents, to 98 cents per liter.

Meanwhile, low sulfur diesel will rise one cent, the remaining  88 cents per liter.

These prices apply until 5:59 in the morning of July 28.

President Cortizo announced the extension of the solidarity fuel subsidy for 91 gasoline and diesel, so the new prices that come into effect as of Friday will experience savings in the final cost.

Thus, the savings per subsidized gallon in 91 octane gasoline will be 0.81 cents and in the diesel gallon, the savings would be nine cents.
