Joseph  Peralta a former member of the Institutional Protection Service (SPI) was one of three men apprehended Wednesday, as part of the investigations into the murder of the Panamanian from Colon,  model Ángel Ernesto De La Espada, on June 15 at the Alta Plaza shopping center.

The other suspects, captured in raids carried out by the Public Ministry (MP) and the National Police in homes located in the Ernesto Córdoba Campos district of Panama and in the Santa Marta sector of the district of San Miguelito, were identified as Alexander Pineda Camaño,  and Sergio Lan Palacios. The alleged link of the suspects with the crime was confirmed by the prosecutor Rafael Baloyes, of the Metropolitan Section of Homicide and Femicide of the MP. Baloyes said that two firearms were seized during the raids.
