The Crimes Against Life and Personal Integrity Section inspected the Casamar residential complex, in San Carlos, as part of the investigations into the manslaughter of a cyclist in the community of El Espavé, in the district of Chame, on the 30th. December 2023.

Prosecutor Mirian Rodríguez indicated that she is still in the investigation phase, carrying out the respective procedures in the case.

She explained that on January 1 they managed to arrest a man accused of running over the 26-year-old cyclist.

“This (the driver) runs over a person who was traveling on a bicycle and from the strong impact his body remains on the hood of the vehicle, traveling to the San Carlos sector,” she said.

The defendant was driving a Lexus vehicle. Investigators are keeping the names of the victim and the accused confidential.
