NINETY-ONE LEADERS  of civil, labor  and indigenous organizations   forming Panama’s Strategic National Alliance, met  in Colon  on Sunday, Jan. 31  to plan a National Day of Protest with their sights firmly on the Supreme Court.

The decision was taken to organize simultaneous  protests, across the country , on Thursday, February 18, demanding the immediate resignation of the Supreme Court.

They will also be calling for an end to the proliferation of thermal and port concessions; improved education and health care and    rejection of the proposal to privatize water of Lake Bayano. Will the Varela cabinet, alao facing pressurea from the business community, be listening?
