THE EXTRADITION of Nidal Waked from Colombia to the United States to face charges of money laundering  and  bank fraud  moved a major step forward on Wednesday Nov. 30  when President Juan Manuel Santos endorsed the move.

This after denying an appeal  filed by his lawyer in October reports RCN News and other Colombia media.Waked was arrested in Bogota on May 4 . The next day,

His companies  , as well as those of his uncle Abdul Waked, in Panama  and 68 companies in the Waked family empire  appeared on the Clinton list.

Among the companies  hit was  The Balboa Bank, in which Nidal was listed as treasurer.

Nidal's brothers and Abdul's son, as well as his lawyers, were also Included on the list which led to The Soho Center and Felix B Maduro being put in the hands of creditors, pending  their sale. Felix Maduro has already been purchased by a group led by Arrocha.

In September, Waked had requested an express extradition to Florida where prosecutors in  the Southern District Court have called for 50 years behind bars.
