Independent Deputies  Juan Diego Vásquez and Gabriel Silva, founders of the Vamos coalition, held a meeting with the singer-songwriter and former tourism minister, Rubén Blades. The deputies presented their initial plans and vision of the country to the singer who has kept an eye on national political events and at one time mulled the idea of running for president.

As they posted on their social networks, the singer-songwriter was determined to support independent candidates for deputies, mayors, and representatives throughout the country.

Recently, Blades indicated on his social networks that he considered that an action plan had not been created among the independents for the creation of a common front for the 2024 elections, which would avoid the division of the independent vote.
