The King of Spain and President of Colombia will be in Panama on the First of July

To date, delegations from 11 countries have confirmed their attendance at the presidential inauguration in Panama, scheduled July 1.


Among the dignitaries who have confirmed their presence include leaders Rodrigo Chaves Robles of Costa Rica, Luis Abinader of the Dominican Republic, Daniel Noboa of Ecuador, Xiomara Castro of Honduras, and the Prime Minister of Belize, John Briceño.  In addition, HM King Felipe VI of Spain and the President of Colombia will also attend.  The Vice President of Guatemala, Karin Herrera, and Foreign Ministers Javier González-Olaechea Franco of Peru, Denis Moncada of Nicaragua, Eduardo Enrique Reina García of Honduras and Arnoldo André Tinoco of Costa Rica will also be among the guests. 


Ambassadors and representatives of international organizations accredited in Panama will join the ceremony, which will be presided over by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Janaina Tewaney Mencomo, and the designated Minister of Foreign Affairs, Javier Martínez Acha.  The international delegations will arrive at the international airports of Tocumen and Panama Pacifico between Saturday, June 29 and Sunday, June 30, 2024.  On Sunday, June 30, President Laurentino Cortizo Cohen will offer a State Dinner in honor of the Heads of State and Government, as well as Representatives of Reigning Houses.


Simultaneously, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Panama will organize a reception for delegations not chaired by Heads of State, during which the Letters of Credence will be received through the General Directorate of Protocol and Ceremonial of the State.  This event marks a crucial moment in Panamanian politics, highlighting the international relevance of the presidential inauguration.
