The National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc), has issued a Notice of Prevention (Surveillance and Monitoring), from 1:44 am Saturday, October 26 until 7:00 pm on Friday, November 1.

Maximum tides in the Panamanian Pacific, will reach 18.4 feet high (5.61m).

Sinaproc Director Omar Smith Gallardo, urged the coastal population to take preventive measures, because if the high tide coincides with rains, the levels of the rivers and streams, could rise causing flooding.

Recommended prevention measures are:

*Keep an eye on children, older adults and people with disabilities.

*In case of flood, keep calm and call the Emergency entities.
*If there is a risk of flooding, lower the lever of the electrical panel and evacuate immediately to high areas.

*Light boats should use navigation equipment and personal flotation devices (life jackets), while swimmers are advised to use caution when entering the sea
