PRESIDENT  Cortizo will present on Tuesday. January 7  a final report on the  La Joyita prison massacre led to the deaths of 15 inmates on  December 17.  2019, which left 15 dead. Cortizo explained that he asked the government ministers, Carlos Romero and Security, Minister  Rolando Mirones, to prepare separate reports of what happened, by 9:00 am Tuesday, when he will be meeting with them, for the preparation of the final report which will be announced at h a televised conference.

The Office of Homicide and Feminicide requested an imputation hearing as part of the investigation that is being carried out, for the death of the prisoners. The Prosecutor's Office has identified at least five prisoners, suspected of having allegedly used firearms in the incident in Hall 14 of La JoyitaThe weapons included  AK-47 rifles, and  9 mm  pistols
