President Laurentino Cortizo is "in perfect health" and he has not been tested for the coronavirus.

"It is not necessary to do the test since it does not present any symptoms," Óscar Ramos told La Prensa.

On Tuesday it was announced  that an official from the Ministry of the Presidency is among the cases of coronavirus in Panama listed by the health authorities

An official is a 55-year-old man, who was in Paris France, Madrid Spain the United States and Cuba, and who had contact with at least 42 people who are now under observation.

The Ministry of Health (Minsa) reported that clinical and laboratory tests were applied to two other officials of the Presidency, "which came out negative," the institution reported.

All the officials of the Ministry of the Presidency and personnel who arrive at the institution undergo a screening test (taking the temperature), said the Minsa.

In addition, all trips abroad have been canceled.
