A NATIONAL POLICE sergeant became the third police officer this year to commit suicide after shooting his female partner on Saturday, May 23 in El Nazareno de Santiago.

The first two occasions were murder-suicides, in the latest incident the woman, shot twice in the back, survived and is in intensive care fighting for her life in Hospital Luis "Chicho" Fabrega de Veraguas.
