A National Police corporal who was shot while sitting in his vehicle in  Arraiján, on Friday morning is in serious condition in Panama’s National Hospital.

Corporal Agustín Muñoz was originally taken to the Nicolás A. Solano hospital in La Chorrera and as his condition worsened was transferred to the National Hospital.

Local residents near the site of the incident told authorities that apparently the police officer had a strong argument with his spouse.

A police source told El Siglo that Muñoz's partner was arrested and is under investigation.
