Water shortage cancels hospital surgeries

Parts of Chitré, Herrera, have been without water for nearly three days forcing the Hospital Dr. Gustavo Nelson Collado Ríos to suspend elective surgeries, sensitive treatments, and administrative tasks. Hospital authorities announced t the decision on Wednesday, September 19.  Llano Bonito, where the medical center is located is one of the areas dependent on water dispensed by  Idaan tank trucks which does not meet hospital needs.
