They are demanding  is to demand that Panamanian authorities " stop foreign truckers transporting  goods from Panama to the rest of Central America,"

"There is Law 51 [of June 28, 2017] that allows transporters from another country to move cargo from customs to Central America," said spokesman Manuel Levigion.

Transporter Hugo Sanchez said that "quietly" the Panamanian authorities are allowing their Central American counterparts to take charge.

"In Costa Rica, in Nicaragua and other countries they do not allow us to move their merchandise ... if we do, the fines imposed by their governments are large,” said Sanchez.
