Student girlfriend killer gets 17 years

Rolando Samudio the boyfriend of murdered university student  Aira Guerra,  was sentenced to 17 years in jail, 13 years less than the prosecutor’s request on  Tuesday September 25. Guerra was murdered in 2012,  in Ojo de Agua, Chiriquí. Álvaro Samudio, the uncle of Rolando Samudio, was sentenced to eight years in prison. A jury of five women and three men declared both guilty after a five-day trial.
