OPINION: When promises become lies.

The memory of voters is full of political slogans: "now it's up to the people ...", "in the shoes of the people" or
"the people first", with which they crowded past campaigns promising more security, integrity in the public
affairs or that all Panamanians would have basic health in their homes. The country's problems are the result
of the lack of State policies and by a public administration sequestered by short-term interests. A proof of this
is that only half of the population benefiting from the basic health program and will not receive the fruits of this
initiative by 2019. Along the way, the other half stay behind until a future government attends to it. What
would be a remarkable achievement for any politician will become an unfulfilled promise of the current
administration. We have time for candidates who sharpen their pencils to make their lists of promises to learn
from the clear example of basic health. The country needs realistic offers, and not advertising fantasies
cooked up by electoral consultants. These promises become lies or deceptions.- LA PRENSA. Oct. 12
