Gianni Infantino was accompanied by the president of Concacaf, Victor Montagliani, and the president of the Panamanian Football Federation (Fepafut), Pedro Chaluja who witnessed the presentation to Varela of a football shirt.

Panama's next preparatory game will be against Switzerland, on  Tuesday, March  27 in Lucerne.

Infantino addressed the importance of the implementation of VAR (video arbitration)  which will make its first appearance in a World Cup final saying that the system is here to stay and that, therefore, the 2018 World Cup will be "historic and exceptional".
