National Police officer, second corporal Erick Oscar Córdoba 28 serving in a  lynx (motor-cycle patrol) team in  Las Tablas was killed and his partner seriously injured on Friday morning, November 23, when they were hit by a vehicle. Cordoba died in the hospital Joaquín Pablo Franco Sayas. His partner. was air-lifted to Santo Tomas Hospital in the capital city The accident raised the total of highway deaths this year to 308.

A day earlier a woman riding pillion was killed when the motorcycle ran into the back of a taxi in  Felipillo, in the township of December 24. The motorcycle driver was hospitalized

Julio González, director of the  Transportation Authority (ATTT), said that this year there are 58 fewer highway victims compared to 2017.
