Fire alarms  added to Panama City traffic jams  brought on by the closure of Cinta Costera an Avenida Balboa for the annual Christmas Parade on Sunday, December 16

At 1 pm a blaze in a motorcycle store on Via Brazil shut down traffic as the first responders from the Carrasquilla station called for support from Bethania and Calidonia stations, who sent two tanker trucks to fight the flames.

Two hours later the fire department evacuated a residential tower in Punta Pacifica because of a suspected fire on the 17th floor. Motorists were warned to avoid the Paitilla area
