THREE PANAMA SUPREME COURT judgeshave asked the president of the court, Jose Ayu Prado, to convene an extraordinary plenary session to consider public complaints against members of the institution.

In a letter sent Thursday April 3 to the office of Ayu Prado, the signatories Oyden Ortega Duran, Harley Dale Mitchell and Victor Benavides Pinilla argue that their application is motivated by the "need for the acts of the courts to fall within the framework of transparency and propriety for the sake of Panamanian justice." They proposed that the meeting take place on Tuesday April 8.

The letter was also delivered to the offices of fellow judges Harry Diaz, Luis Ramon Fabrega , Hernán De León and Alejandro Moncada Luna.
Meanwhile reports La Prensa the ex-fourth criminal circuit judge Alexis Ballesteros continues to receive death threats after denouncing alleged pressure from superiors and officials of the executive pn his rulings in cases related to administration insiders contrary to the law.
