The temporary suspension of the sanitary registration of blood pressure medication Acepress, Irbesartan 300mg, both in public and private health systems, has been lifted by the Ministry of Health (Minsa), through the Directorate of Pharmacy and Drugs.

According to the public health entity, after a validation of the tests carried out on the medicine, the Minsa specialists and scientists from the Specialized Institute of Analysis of the University of Panama determined that the medicine complies with all the required clinical regulations. , health records and established controls.

Genaro Cuesta, Regional Medical and Regulatory Director of Laboratories Stein, expressed his satisfaction at the decision of the Panamanian health authorities.

"We know that the product meets all the characteristics of quality and safety and we feel calm and confident to make available to Panamanians a quality and very safe medicine that contains a world-renowned and proven molecule for the treatment of hypertension," he said.

For 10 years, Acepress, Irbesartan 300mg, manufactured by Laboratorios Stein S.A., has been marketed in Central America and has been consumed at the private and public level by thousands of patients in several countries, for the care of hypertension and other diseases.

In Panama, 37,200 Panamanian hypertensive patients are treated daily with the drug.
