5.3 earthquake felt in Panama, Colon

A 5.3 magnitude earthquake 80km northeast of Chepo with a depth of 43km was felt across Panama and Colon around 1 p.m. on Monday, August 6. Members of the Joint Task Force are monitoring the region, but José Donderis director of the National Civil Protection System,(Sinaproc), indicated on his Twitter account that there are no reported damages so far. And urged the population to remain calm, while the Emergency Operations Center performs evaluations.
