Panama marks 116 years of independence

An early morning flag-raising ceremony in Casco Viejo by President  Laurentino Cortizo kicked off the November 4,  day-long celebration of 116  years of separation from Colombia.  Panamanian major league baseball legend was standard-bearer at the head of a parade of scores of school and independent bands. And dancers that traversed Calle 50 and Via Espana.
