One dead, one injured as trucks collide.

A COLLISION between  two articulated trucks during a heavy downpour on a highway, in Remedios, in the east of Chiriqui on Sunday, June 23 left one driver dead and the other hospitalized. The dead driver heading for Veraguas lost control of his truck after hitting a pool of water. One truck was loaded with cement the other with dry goods.

Drivers in this country are amongst some of the worst in the world...DO beware. Chalk this up to the ability of a "student" to bribe driving instructors to "Pass" you on their bogus exams (needed to get a license)....and a horrible curriculum that does not focus anywhere nearly enough time on developing practical skills. Add to this sordid mix the near total lack of any type of REAL enforcement of common sense traffic laws (...HELOOOOO....speed kills..!!!).....and headlines like this one will continue well into the future. As a former professional over the road driver...living here in Panama now over 9 years>>>trust me...seen it all here like nowhere else EVER in the world. AND YES...some here DO DRIVE ON THE SIDE WALKS...! IT'S TIME TO YANK DRIVING LICENSES FOR TEXTING WHILE DRIVING....I see this one more than you would ever want to believe and is the largest cause of accidents....because people here just don't accept the fact that driving is a dangerous activity that deserves your full attention. ...NUFF SAID.
