Diomedez Barría, 85n  died on Thursday afternoon, February 14  when he was run over by a National Police (PN)patrol vehicle car in front of the Minsa health center in the Tolé district of Chiriqui province.

According to an official report, the accident occurred when a PN pickup driven by a police corporal unit tried to back up from where it was parked in the health center and at that time the victim walked behind. He was transferred to the hospital in San Felix where he was pronounced dead.

 authorities have initiated investigations into the incident which took place during the driver’s working hours.

The death raises the victims of a traffic accident so far this year in the province of Chiriqui to 10.
