The mandatory use of a mask on public transport and for food handlers will end once the announcement appears in the Official  Gazette the Minister of Health, Luis Francisco Sucre, said on Monday, 

However, the minister clarified that the use of masks in health facilities will be mandatory. At the same time, he suggested that patients with chronic diseases continue to use it as a protective measure.

At the beginning of June 2020, three months after the covid-19 virus arrived in the country, the use of a mask was mandatory at the national level, both in open and closed spaces.
