Lack of consensus among  Indigenous groups paralyzed the caravan of trucks with agricultural merchandise and other products that had set out at six in the morning of Monday, November 13.

They were halted in the El Salado sector, province of Chiriquí, due to a closure on the Inter-American highway by a group of indigenous people.

The trucks had managed to pass the other points that had been closed but were reopened around 6:00 am today, such as Horoncitos, San Félix, Chorcha, Las Vueltas, Silimín, and San Juan.

However, the indigenous people did not reach a consensus in the El Salado sector and continued to block the road. Another small group in Tolé and Viguí will also not allow vehicles to pass through, despite the fact that on Sunday night the majority of their bases had voted for the reopening.

In Santiago, province of Veraguas, the groups that have remained in the protests against the mining contract also announced that they will continue with the blocked road, under the vehicular bridge.
