The National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc) issued a yellow alert notice in six provinces and one region, on Tuesday, November 2 given the forecasts of constant rains in the coming hours.

Sinaproc specifies that in light of the forecasts of prolonged rains and storms in the coming days, this yellow alert is issued in the provinces of Bocas del Toro, Chiriquí, Veraguas, Los Santos, Herrera, and Coclé, and in the Ngäbe  Bugle region.

The entity reiterated that the green alert is maintained for the rest of the country.

"The country is still under surveillance due to the development and slow displacement of a low-pressure system between the Caribbean coasts of Panama and Costa Rica, but it maintains an organization and cyclonic flow, favorable to rainy events in Central America", details the Sinaproc that is referenced in a bulletin from the Miami Hurricane Center.

Constant rains are expected in the mountainous regions of the country and river floods, floods, and landslides may occur.

The yellow alert in these six provinces and the region comes about 20 hours after a green alert notice throughout the country.
