A “preventive ” green alert was declared by National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc) on  Friday, July 23, due to an increase in rainfall in in the provinces of Bocas del Toro, Chiriquí, Veraguas, and in the Ngäbe Buglé region.

The alert is also for the downstream of Colón and part of the Azuero peninsula.

Sinaproc said the notice follows the "significant increase and accumulated rains", during the last 24 hours.
