A 42-year-old man who posed as a pastor in San Miguelito was sentenced on Friday, October 13, to a 45-year prison sentence for five crimes: two for rape and three for sexual harassment, to the detriment of two minors.

The decision was handed down by the Oral Trial Court of San Miguelito, made up of judges Lenín Andrión (president), Marisabel Cerrud, and Milena Vega,

The man committed the crimes when he posed as a pastor and gynecological doctor in the Paraíso sector, San Miguelito, in August 2021, according to the Public Ministry.

In the ruling, the Court also ordered multidisciplinary therapeutic treatment for the convicted person. As an accessory penalty, they imposed disqualification from exercising public functions for the same term as the main sentence, once the main sentence had been served.

“The collegiate court based its decision on the analysis of the allegations and evidence presented by the interveners - testimonials, experts, documents, and evidence - during the oral trial, where the existence of compelling elements concerning the commission of the punishable act was proven and Guilt was proven against the accused,” the Judicial Branch said in a statement.
