Tests for the detection of COVID-19, have been  carried out on prisoners, police, and custodians  at the Punta Coco maximum security prison, which houses some of Panama’s most dangerous criminals

The application of the tests was coordinated in conjunction with the Ministry of Health (Minsa)

The latest report released by the Minsa  showed hat in different prison centers in the country, there were 815 positive cases, 703 recovered, 104 active positive, 2 hospitalized and one death

The La Nueva Joya Penitentiary Center has the most positive cases (344) followed by the Santiago Public Prison in Veraguas with 313 positive cases.
