Six people allegedly involved with the rape of two  young Norwegian women during the pirate  boarding and robbery of  a sailboat Alibaba  in Nombre Dios Bay, Colon were arrested on Tuesday, November 12 following a joint intelligence operation by the National  Police, The National Aeronaval Service (Seafront) and the Public Ministry

The day before  a satellite phone and two iPads that had links with the victims were  recovered,

The attack took place at dawn of Saturday, November 9,  when hooded and armed men e who traveling in a boat powered by an outboard motor, assaulted the crew of the Alíbaba, a 40-foot sailboat.

 They also raped  two  young women, who received medical attention at the Portobelo health center where   they filed the complaint

The vessel under the command, of Captain Jorgen Brevik, left Norway in  September to take a tour that would take them to Spain, Portugal, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, and Panama.

The attack was denounced by Pablo Salazar, the mayor of the district of Santa Isabel, , who regretted that the tourists were outraged, affecting the image of residents of coastal communities.
