Over 20 people were injured, two seriously, in an explosion on the twelfth floor of an apartment building in  Obarrio at 7.15 am on Tuesday,      November 1.

First responders rushed to the Urbana building on Calle 54 to rescue the injured and evacuate more than 500 people from the complex and neighboring buildings while a fleet of ambulances transported victims to the Hospital Santo Tomas.

There are nine affected buildings. Five with compromised structure.

The area has been cordoned off for investigation.

The captain of the firefighters, Ángel Delgado, pointed out that they are evaluating some 10 structures or buildings that could have been affected
