Ministry of Health authorities accompanied by security officials closed six premises in  Panama city coordination in the capital city for not complying with the regulations set out in the national emergency decree to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

Dr. Yamileth López, deputy director of the Metropolitan Health Region, reported that 50 premises dedicated to night-time activities were inspected in different townships such as Santa Ana, Calidonia, Bella Vista, and Juan Díaz, among others.

She said that one event and five venues were closed because they failed to comply with the norm that establishes avoiding crowds, which means  avoiding events with more than 50 people.

Owners of the premises face fines ranging from $500 to $5000.

Dr López said there was the possibility of modifying the decree because there are aspects that have not been contemplated.
