Rebound in coronavirus cases – 11,693 active

The rebound in Covid-19 cases in the country of 897 infections a day in the last 15 days, reports of the Ministry of Health (Minsa).

Health authorities confirmed earlier this week that Panama is already experiencing the third wave of the virus and the figures for the last 15 days exceed by 3,714 new patients in the previous two weeks.

Between May 27 and June 10, 9,753 cases (62 deaths) were counted, while from June 11 to 25, 13,467 positive people (86 deaths) were added.

If the monthly figures are compared, already June 2021 with 20,723 cases exceeded the record that occurred in the month of May of 13,521.

The monthly positivity of May was 5.17% and that of June was 7.31%.

In the epidemiological report released Friday, in Panama, there are 11,653 active cases.

In the last 24 hours, it was reported that 10 townships had at least 20 new cases of coronavirus. 

Tocumen and San Francisco added 32 positive people each.
