The Technical Council of Public Health of the Ministry of Health (Minsa) has asked the Medical College of Panama to investigate claims made by physicians in the media and the dissemination of reports of adverse reactions caused by vaccines against Covid -19, information not scientifically proven.

A letter, carrying the signatures of the vice minister of health and president of the Technical Council of Public Health, Ivette Berrío, and the general secretary of public health, Melva Cruz, is based on the fact that article 32 of Law 41 of August 5 of 2002, establishes that it is the Medical Association of Panama that is responsible for investigating the conduct of these doctors "whenever they contravene" the health provisions issued by the Minsa.

The request arises after medical and scientific associations in Panama have been denouncing the disclosure of information lacking scientific evidence.
