Death toll rises convention centers marked for conversion to hospitals

July  opened with 913 new cases of Covid-19  raising  the total in Panama to 34,463 since the outbreak began on March 9 and 14 new deaths, brought  the total death toll to 645.

The Ministry of Health  reports that, 943 people remain hospitalized, 794 in the ward and 149 in Intensive Care.

There are 16,930 people in isolation, 16,251 at home and 679 in hospital hotels.

As  the availability of hospital beds shrinks  efforts are being made  to enable the Figali  and Amador Convention Centesr to be used if needed  and room  of the Social Security Fund and other hospitals are being expanded being expanded to install beds that for  COVID-positive patient
