56 of every 100 in Panama are fully vaccinated

The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), published on December 14, a report that in Panama at least 56 out of every 100 people have the complete vaccination scheme.

PAHO released the official data published by Our World in Data , which includes the vaccination report until December 11.

According to this report, 69% of people have received at least one dose of the biologics against the new coronavirus.

Panama is one of the countries that has the highest proportion of the population completely immunized, positioning it above the world average of 46%, according to Our World in Data.

It was also highlighted that Panama is among the Central American countries that has achieved the highest number of doses administered per 100,000 people and "with the highest percentage of the target population [12 years and older] with a complete scheme."

This December 15, the Expanded Immunization Program (PAI) of the Ministry of Health revealed that 6 million 140 thousand 710 doses of vaccines against Covid-19 had been applied.

Of that total, 3 million 112 thousand 116 are first doses, while 2 million 786 thousand 260 are second doses. In addition, 235 thousand 353 are booster doses and 6 thousand 981 third doses for immunosuppressed people.

The target population, which is 12 years and older, 90.1% is covered with the first dose and 80.7% with the second dose, according to the EPI.
