204,000 doses of covid-19 vaccine arrive in Panama

A shipment - of 204 thousand doses - of the vaccine against Covid-19 from the pharmaceutical alliance AstraZeneca / University of Oxford, arrived in Panama on Saturday, May 22 at a cost of $4.3 million.

To date, the country has received 113,400 AstraZeneca vaccines through the Covax mechanism: 36,000 in the first batch and 77,400 in the second.

In Panama, the vaccine from the AstraZeneca / University of Oxford alliance is applied to men over 30 years of age and women over 50 years of age.

The latest batch will be destined for vaccination, starting tomorrow, in the fast-car set up on the grounds of the David Fair, in Chiriquí. It will also be used for immunization in central provinces, which begins on May 25 in Herrera and Los Santos, in the fast-car located at the Azuero Fair, and on Wednesday 26, on Boulevard Penonomé.

It continues in Panama Oeste (May 31), in the fast -car enabled at the La Chorrera Fair, according to the schedule shared by the National Authority for Government Innovation.

Currently, the application of the AstraZeneca / University of Oxford vaccine is carried out at the Rommel Fernández stadium, in Panama City, and in the province of Veraguas
