World artists create Panama  Mural Fest

The first completed work of The Panama Mural Fest which runs from  May 20-26 is of Panama’s multi world-titled iconic boxer  Roberto Duran It is in  a hidden corner of El Chorillo where “hands of stone” grew up.  

The mural depiticts him in his prime with his boxing gloves and the colors of the national flag in  The Fest is , an artistic initiative  with the goal of creating 30 large murals  on the streets of Santa Ana and El Chorrillo in order to add value to walls  within communities where  art does not usually knock on the door, says  artist Disem305 , who has teamed with his colleague Dreps  to manage the project.

Some  30 muralists from Spain, the United States, Denmark, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Colombia, Venezuela, Canada, and Panama are busy working with spray paint.

 Since the beginning of 2019, the 'Mural 500' initiative has been developed, which produces murals in each of the 26 districts of Panama City to mark the 500th anniversary of its founding.

. One of the objectives of this initiative is that the murals pay tribute to the stories of each village and its inhabitants with the participation of the communities themselves.
