RUMORS of an increase in Metro Bus fares are unwarranted says Panama’s Transport Authority but there will be an adjustment of the subsidy provided by the State which is not transferred to the user said ATTT director, Julio Cesar Gonzalez om,Wednesday, August 27.

The Mi Bus, dealership service of urban passenger transport, according to the contractual relationship with the state has requested a rate adjustment technique, but it will not affect users, Gonzalez said.
He explained that the increase of subsidy paid by the Government to Mi Bus is aready reflected in the fares paid by the user.
Currently, the fee for the transportation service is 70 cents, but passengers pay only 25 cent because the government provides a 45 cent subsidy.
TOWING PRICES – The ATTT plans to add its logo to all authorized towing vehicles, and to regulate
all fees charged by the towing companies. The Authority’s manual will spell out rules
to regulate the removal of vehicles, transfer, and maneuvers for each vehicle type.
DIABLOS ROJOS – Stories are gaining credence of owners of still functioning Diablos Rojos in the Interior taking part in late night drag races. They get their practice while carrying passengers during the day.
Meanwhile a government investigation is underway into another transportation calumny. Some owners of de-commissioned Diablos, were paid compensation twice, or three times for the same vehicles. Is that where the money came from for the fleets of pirate buses whose drivers seem to have inherited the driving habits of their noisy predecessors?
